Event Support Assist with upcoming events. Get involved in the planning, organization, and execution process of the events. The involvement level is up to you, but it's a great way to gain volunteering hours while having a great time and using your creativity. The next upcoming event is: Receptionist Volunteer Receptionist Positions Available: Monday - 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Wednesday - 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Wednesday - 12: 00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Thursday- 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Our receptionist desk is run by volunteers during the business day. We have shifts from 8:00am to 12:00pm and 12:00pm to 4:00pm. The volunteer is responsible for answering a 6 line phone and greeting visitors. This is a chance for volunteers to be more involved in what goes on at Bethany Place along with interacting with clients who come in during the day. Prior to starting this position paper work needs to be filled out and a training will be done when convenient for the volunteer. Volunteers for this position must be 18 years or older. December 1st – AIDS Awareness Day Every year on AIDS Awareness Day, December 1st, Bethany Place does several events. During the day a staff and volunteer(s) will set up a table at SWIC to talk about HIV/AIDS and give out information to the young adults in the community to better understand the intensity of this disease. That evening we have an event which takes place at St. Luke’s Church in Belleville. We need several volunteers to help with the planning and implementation of the event. The volunteer will put in about 10 hours total, which can be done during the business day or after hours. Presentations and Fairs – On Going Throughout the community Bethany Place is present at Health Fairs, Diversity Awareness events, and other informational events. The volunteers that help with these types of events will require training on Bethany Place and all of our services which can be done at a time convenient for the volunteer. The events usually are during the business day and can vary on time from 2 hours up to 8 hours. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Food Pantry – On Going During the year our secondary food pantry needs to be organized and restocked. Volunteers schedule a time to come in for a couple hours to work on it, usually during the business hours. Then once a year we get a large donation of food from the Postal Service. For that donation we need 2 to 3 volunteers who are capable of lifting heavy items. That day only takes about 4 hours on a Saturday.
